The REAL-ationship Blog

I have named my blog the REAL-ationship blog because deep down, that’s why most people come to therapy. They want to make their relationships better. This includes both relationships with their loved ones and even their relationship with themselves.

I started out wanting to be a Marriage and Family Therapist because I wanted to help couples and families to be healthy and happy. I have found that one of the best ways for me to do that is by helping individuals work through their trauma. When they do this, it helps all their relationships get healthier. It helps them see their behavior and change. These changes can make others happy, but they can also piss people off. Often other people are surprised when my clients don’t respond the way that they used to or do the same thing that they’ve always done. It isn’t easy work, but our relationships are immensely important, both our relationship to all the parts of us inside, as well as our relationships with other people. So we work through that together too.

I got trained in modalities that are specific to relationship therapy, as well as trauma-specific training. I want to use both to help make a difference in the deep inner work of your life, as well as have a healthy impact on your whole system- your family, partner, co-workers, children, supervisees, boss, and team members.

What ripple effect could happen if you tackled dealing with your trauma?

Imagine it. That’s a great first step.
